How To Get Here

By air: Geneva is the main airport. Approximately 1hr 30 to Morzine, 1hr 15 to Les Gets and 1hr 30 to Avoriaz.

Transfers

Geneva to Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz airport transfers:

  • Shared and private transfers run all winter. Shared is cheaper and you can choose from fixed point or door to door transfers

  • Private is quicker and more flexible, and best value for groups.

By car:

  • Winter tyres or snow chains are required in this area in winter. Parking is limited in Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz so check with your accommodation. Avoriaz is car-free. You park just outside the main resort and use shuttles to get in and walk / ski in the village or use horse drawn sleighs to get about.

Buses:

Free ski buses run in winter and lifts connect the main areas. Check out the bus timetables below for each specific village and how to get to each other resort.

  • Tips: Buy online in advance to save time in ticket queues and at a discount. Local Morzine / Les Gets / Avoriaz passes: These are resort specific and cheaper if you'll stay in one area. The Morzine Les Gets lift pass allows you access to both resorts but not Avoriaz or the rest of the Portes du Soleil. Beginner options: some areas offer beginner or foot passenger passes. Discounts: children, seniors and multi-day passes usually cost less per day.

The Pistes

  • Beginners: There are a great selection of beginner areas in each resort, plus easy flowy greens and blues. Les Gets and Avoriaz are good bases for first-timers. Intermediates: Endless cruising across the Portes du Soleil, with plenty of blues and reds linking resorts and crossing into Switzerland. Advanced and experts: Steeper reds and blacks, head to Avoriaz and also to enjoy tree skiing. Great selection of snowparks too, notably in Avoriaz and the famous Swiss "Wall" for those who like moguls and steep as you can get thrills.

  • Tip: Check the lift status and weather before crossing to Switzerland, so you're not stuck on the wrong side at closing time.
