Morzine Announces Winter 2026/27 Opening Dates
The countdown to winter is officially on! Morzine has confirmed its opening dates for the 2026/27 ski season, with the Morzine–Les Gets ski area set to welcome skiers and snowboarders from Saturday 19 December 2026.
Running through to Sunday 4 April 2027, the winter season will once again give visitors the opportunity to enjoy some of the best skiing in the French Alps, right in the heart of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area.
The Morzine–Les Gets sector offers 120km of marked pistes, with terrain for all abilities, from gentle beginner slopes around Pleney and Nyon to more challenging red and black runs for experienced skiers.
And for those looking to explore even further, Morzine provides easy access to the wider Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest cross-border ski domains in Europe, with more than 600km of pistes across France and Switzerland.
There is also an earlier start to the winter season just a short journey from the centre of Morzine. Avoriaz is scheduled to open on Friday 11 December 2026, remaining open until 18 April 2027. From Morzine, skiers can reach Avoriaz via the Super Morzine gondola or Prodains cable car.
While 19 December marks the official continuous opening of the Morzine–Les Gets ski area, partial early openings may take place before Christmas, depending on snow conditions. As always in the Alps, individual lift and piste openings remain subject to weather, snow cover and operational conditions.
