Le Tremplin, Morzine’s famous bar, restaiarnt, hotel and iconoi apre venue opens after its renovation this winter and we welcome the new Col de Cou Hut Refuge!
NEW: The Col de Cou hut
At an altitude of 1920 metres, the Cabane du Col de Cou is a former customs post that has now been transformed into a guarded refuge. Inaugurated in autumn 2025, it will now be open all year round to welcome hikers and visitors in a unique setting on the border between France and Switzerland. Access from Morzine is via a short 7km hike with a 500m elevation gain, but the 40-bed refuge is also located along the GR5, the Via Alpina and the Tour des Dents Blanches. Inside and out, visitors can enjoy a unique panorama of the Dents du Midi, the emblematic chain of the Portes du Soleil, as well as views over the valley of our Valais neighbours in Champéry and the slopes on the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil. The new refuge is also a model of sustainability, incorporating innovative energy and waste management solutions. With the exception of the wood used for heating, the refuge is completely self-sufficient: water collection and treatment, electricity generated by 120 m² of photovoltaic panels, hot water produced by 24 m² of thermal solar panels, dry toilets...
A winter night at the Golèse refuge Perched at an altitude of 1,660 metres between the Manche and Giffre valleys, the Golèse refuge is accessible on foot, snowshoes or cross-country skis. The route, which is safe and accessible for regular hikers, passes through forests and snow-covered mountain pastures, offering a gentle, immersive ascent. After around 350 metres of ascent, the refuge is revealed in a magical setting, facing the snow-capped peaks. On arrival, you’ll be greeted by an authentic, friendly atmosphere, with a choice of dormitory or private room options, and the option of a generous half-board with local flavours. It’s also an excellent base from which to explore the wide open spaces of the surrounding area, such as Bostan and the Dents Blanches, where nature is unspoilt, silent and spectacular.
NEW: RENAISSANCE OF AN ICON... “LE NOUVEAU TREMPLIN” (THE NEW TREMPLIN)
A Morzine icon for almost 90 years, Le Tremplin at the foot of the Pleney is undergoing a major transformation under the impetus of the Timpson family and the Flock Inns group. In December 2025, the first stage will be unveiled: a vast two-level restaurant with a menu inspired by local and seasonal produce, an enlarged terrace facing the slopes, a duplex lounge bar and warm interiors punctuated by art installations. Every day from 3.30pm, lively après-ski will offer skiers live concerts and Alpine DJ sets. Le Tremplin will re-main true to its spirit: a warm welcome for all the family... all year round. The complete reopening, including 12 top-of-the- range suites (2 to 5 bedrooms, with kitchen and private living areas), is scheduled for 2026. A project that combines gastronomy, conviviality and Alpine hospitality to create a dynamic all year round space in Morzine
