RAISINg awareness of the dangers of concussion.

With the snow season now approaching and Snow Show next week, we thought it would be a good time to start talking more about the dangers of concussion and what The Ellie Soutter Foundation is doing to help.

Based in Les Gets , the foundation recently partnered with ImPACT to sell ImPACT Baseline Tests. Why and what are they you ask? Snow sports can be dangerous activities and the possibility of concussion is well known to be likely for many skiiers and snowboarders, whatever their level.

Taking an ImPACT Baseline test is simple. It’s a 20 minute online assesement which measure cognitive function, reaction times and so on. The idea is you take a test now, (while you are in a normal functioning state), the data gets stored on a free app and then IF or WHEN you suffer a concussion, your medical professional can then ask you take a ‘post traumatic’ test, so they can compare the data from pre and post concussion state and help you with your recovery. It really is that simple.

ImPACT Baseline Tests can be bought (12euros) from The Ellie Soutter Foundation here: The Ellie Soutter Foundation
