We’ve heard various conversations about a change to the freeride trails in Morzine, so here’s the word from the Tourist Office. We will update this with further details as soon as we have them! All in all, this has been created to ensure a better experience for everyone on the mountain, from preservation of the trails, safety for all and should result in a more fun time for everyone involved.

On the 6th June, an awareness and communications campaign will be rolled out in collaboration with the town hall, the tourist office and SERMA (the lift office) to raise awareness among Morzine mountain users about:

• Coexistence

• The environment

• Freeriding

This campaign will include physical signage at the entrances to the area, on the ground and also messages on digital media. The aim of this campaign is to:

• Adopt a common communication strategy on mountain biking between the Morzine (DLM) and Avoriaz (Serma) areas, as well as the village centre.

• Convey a message of prevention and awareness to the general public.

• Regulate freeriding in order to limit safety issues and environmental damage (forests and private land).

• To ensure the long-term future of downhill mountain biking in Morzine-Avoriaz and more broadly in the Portes du Soleil.
