Les Gets: Tour de France -16/07/23

The 15th stage of the Tour de France will start in Les Gets.

Featuring in TDF routes for many years and following the huge success of the 2022 start stage in Morzine, Les Gets will host a start stage for the first time in 2023. Nestled in the Portes du Soleil and already globally renowned for hosting mountain bike world championships and world cups, the Tour start will be yet another incredible event for Les Gets. Expected to attract thousands of cycling and all round mountain fans, this is an event to be firmly marked on your summer calendar not to be missed.

16/07/2023 - STAGE 15 - 180 KM - MOUNTAIN

Le Tour: “ The Haute-Savoie ski resort of Les Portes du Soleil has been on the Tour route many times, for final stages that have finished in Morzine and Avoriaz, for example, the latter last visited in 2010 when Andy Schleck was the victor. Three stages of the Critérium du Dauphiné have also been held in Les Gets, including a prologue won by Alberto Contador at the start of the 2016 edition. In winter, skiing is the main attraction and in summer the resort becomes a focal point for mountain bikers. The World MTB Championships were held here in 2004 and again in 2022. French colours featured prominently last summer, with Pauline Ferrand Prévot taking two rainbow jerseys”.

Road cycling fans are expected to create an incredible atmosphere, the town will be alive will with the buzz of Le Tour festivities and all round good times guaranteed. If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, make sure you do and don’t forget to bring your bike!
